Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee Chairman Abdulaziz Akkulov met with representatives of Chinese airline Loong Air to discuss cooperation in tourism and civil aviation, as well as prospects for expanding air connectivity between the two countries. This was reported by the Tourism Committee.

According to the committee, Loong Air currently operates scheduled flights on the Xi'an–Tashkent, Chengdu–Tashkent and Xi'an–Samarkand routes, providing air links between Uzbekistan and China.

During the meeting, the parties noted that China remains one of Uzbekistan's key international tourism markets. According to the committee, more than 278,900 Chinese citizens visited Uzbekistan in 2025, while the number of Chinese tourists reached 223,500 in January-June 2026.

The discussions also focused on expanding the route network. In particular, the parties considered increasing the number of Loong Air flights and jointly exploring the launch of new direct routes between cities in Uzbekistan and China.

The two sides also exchanged views on joint marketing and promotional campaigns aimed at further increasing the flow of tourists between the two countries.
