Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Members of Uzbekistan’s national boxing team won 17 medals at the 4th Belt and Road international tournament held in China as part of a joint training camp, the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation reported.
The international training camp involving members of the national team took place from 14 to 29 September in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. As part of their preparations, Uzbek boxers competed in the international tournament.
The team won seven gold medals. The winners were Shodiyorjon Melikuziev in the up to 50kg category, Shokhrukh Abdumalikov (60kg), Madiyar Daniyarov (65kg), Ruslan Sharipboev (90kg), Madiyar Saidrakhimov (over 90kg), Zilolakhon Yusupova (51kg) and Rukhshona Parpieva (80kg).
Four silver medals were won by Atkhamjon Mukhitdinov (65kg), Safarmurod Allaberganov (75kg), Shahzod Polvonov (over 90kg) and Sobirakhon Shokhobiddinova (over 80kg).
Six other members of the team took bronze medals. They were Amirbek Ismoilov (50kg), Abdulaziz Djurakulov (70kg), Ozodbek Aliev (over 90kg), Jasmin Tokhirova (48kg), Sevinch Khurramova (65kg) and Aysanem Saruarova (75kg).
The athletes were coached by Ramz Akhmedov, Yusufjon Tursunov, Ikrom Berdiev, Ozod Khasanov, Bakhodirjon Nuriddinov and Rustam Abilov. Asliddin Abdualimov served as a judge.
