Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s main chess team defeated India 2.5-1.5 in the sixth round of the open section of the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which is being held in Samarkand.
On the first board, Nodirbek Abdusattorov drew with R Praggnanandhaa.
Javokhir Sindarov and Arjun Erigaisi also drew on the second board. Nodirbek Yakubboev made the decisive contribution to Uzbekistan’s victory by defeating Nihal Sarin on the third board.
On the fourth board, Shamsiddin Vokhidov drew with Gukesh Dommaraju.
As the host country, Uzbekistan has also entered second and third teams in the tournament.
Uzbekistan 2 defeated Spain 2.5-1.5. Jakhongir Vakhidov and Daniil Yuffa drew their respective games, while Abdimalik Abdisalimov defeated Maxim Chigaev. Muhammadzohid Suyarov also drew with Jaime Santos Latasa.
Uzbekistan 3 lost 1.5-2.5 to Australia.
Saidakbar Saidaliev drew with Bobby Cheng, while Temur Kuybokarov and Rishi Sardana secured victories for Australia on the second and third boards. On the fourth board, Asrorjon Omonov defeated David Smerdon.
