Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Sign Mining and Finance Deals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan signed a package of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening their strategic partnership during the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF 2026).
The agreements were signed by relevant ministries, financial institutions and industrial companies from the two countries in the presence of the prime ministers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
A key focus of the cooperation was the expansion of industrial collaboration in the mining sector. Uzbekistan's Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology signed an agreement with Azerbaijan's state-owned company AzerGold to conduct joint geological exploration and promote the development of the mining industry.
The ministry also signed a framework agreement with NEQSOL Holding. The partnership is focused on the joint development of prospective mineral deposits and the implementation of technology-driven investment projects.
Cooperation was also expanded in the financial sector. Uzbekistan's Davr Bank and the International Bank of Azerbaijan signed a strategic partnership agreement.
The agreement is intended to strengthen correspondent banking relations, introduce modern cross-border financial services and create simplified mechanisms to support businesses engaged in foreign economic activity in both countries.
According to the information presented, the agreements are expected to support the diversification of bilateral trade and economic relations and facilitate the launch of technology-intensive industrial projects.
