Uzbekistan and Türkiye Negotiate Citizens' Pension Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The second round of official interstate negotiations dedicated to regulating the pension and social security issues of citizens of both countries has commenced in the city of Kushadasi, Republic of Türkiye.

The negotiation process involves experts and representatives from the Pension Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Türkiye, and the Turkish Social Security Institution (SGK).

The primary focus of detailed discussion during the current meeting is the draft intergovernmental Agreement on Social Security between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as the accompanying Administrative Agreement, which regulates the mechanisms for the practical implementation of the main document. The delegations are systematically reviewing a complex range of issues and legal nuances that were raised and recorded following the first round of consultations.

Currently, the working groups are continuing their joint efforts to finalize the texts of both regulatory legal acts. The main objective of this stage of negotiations is to fully prepare the documents for subsequent signing at the highest state level.

It is expected that the entry into force of these agreements will fully guarantee and protect the pension and social rights of citizens of Uzbekistan and Türkiye who are officially employed within each other's territories, while elevating the bilateral partnership in the sphere of public social protection to a qualitatively new level.
