Article text: The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with the founder and chairman of the board of the Qatari company MBK Holding, Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The two sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, attracting investment, and developing human capital.
During the negotiations, particular attention was paid to the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, as well as prospects for transforming Uzbekistan into one of the key regional centers in this field within Central Asia and the CIS. The participants of the meeting reviewed issues related to training highly qualified specialists, attracting young talent to international projects, and creating new high-paying jobs.
The parties also discussed the implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence in healthcare, education, and public administration, expanding interaction with international IT companies operating in Uzbekistan, and making more effective use of the country's human resource potential.
Modern approaches to the commercialization of scientific research were a separate topic of negotiations. Meeting participants reviewed mechanisms that would allow scientists to focus on research while simultaneously promoting innovative solutions to foreign markets.
In addition, the discussions covered prospects for creating joint ventures, supporting promising startups, developing and exporting artificial intelligence-based products for international markets, and forming a sustainable innovation ecosystem that unites science, education, and business.
Following the meeting, the parties determined further practical steps for implementing joint projects, expanding cooperation in priority areas, and developing a long-term strategic partnership.
