Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An inaugural meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan on 5 October to mark the start of the second research and consulting mission under the project “Improving the Public Administration System in the Field of Intellectual Property in Uzbekistan.”

The mission of the Korean Intellectual Property Institute (KIPI) is taking place in Tashkent from 5 to 9 October. It brings together KIPI representatives and experts, as well as heads and responsible staff of relevant departments of the Ministry of Justice.

At the meeting, the parties identified the main areas of work for the next stage of the project, discussed the schedule for implementing activities, the distribution of tasks and responsibilities, and the preparation of the necessary data and materials.

A key task of the mission is to develop and coordinate practical plans for the digitalisation of intellectual property documents, the cleaning and migration of existing data, and further improvement of the IP Adliya information system.

On the first day of the mission, participants considered issues related to the digitalisation, storage and processing of archived documents concerning intellectual property objects.

Particular attention was paid to comparing data across different information systems, identifying errors, and cleaning and migrating information.

During the mission, the parties also plan to examine in detail standards and workflows for document digitalisation, criteria for improving data quality, and mechanisms for transferring data to the IP Adliya system.

Cooperation with the Korean side is aimed at increasing the efficiency of public administration in the field of intellectual property, improving the quality of digital services, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data.
