Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Mohammad Ali Eskandari.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in tourism, effectively utilizing existing potential, and increasing mutual tourist flow.

In particular, the sides exchanged views on promoting the tourism potential of both countries, increasing the number of tourist trips, expanding direct air connections, and developing cooperation in medical tourism.

The Iranian side proposed simplifying visa procedures for Iranian citizens.

In addition, the parties agreed to more actively promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential in the Iranian market and consistently increase mutual tourist exchanges, drawing on the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two countries.
