Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan–India Travel & Tourism Business Forum and a B2B meeting between representatives of the tourism industries of Uzbekistan and Hyderabad were held in Tashkent to develop direct business ties and expand tourism exchanges between the two countries.
The event was held with the support of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and in cooperation with Centrum Air as part of a familiarisation trip (FAM Trip) organised in connection with the launch of direct air service on the Tashkent–Hyderabad route.
Twelve representatives of Hyderabad’s tourism industry took part in the B2B talks during their visit to Uzbekistan from 2 to 5 October 2026. They held meetings with representatives of Uzbek tour operators and discussed promising areas of cooperation.
One of the main topics was a presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential for the Indian market.
Indian representatives were presented with historical and cultural routes covering Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, trips to sites along the Great Silk Road, as well as opportunities to develop gastronomic, ecotourism and pilgrimage tourism.
The participants also considered the joint development and promotion of tourism packages, the creation of new routes and ways to increase the length of foreign tourists’ stays in Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to expanding the geography of travel and direct interaction between tour operators from the two countries. The sides discussed developing tourism offers based on the interests of Indian travellers.
The launch of direct air service between Hyderabad and Tashkent creates additional opportunities to develop tourism exchanges. The new route can be used to develop comprehensive tour packages covering Tashkent and other tourism centres in Uzbekistan.
As part of the FAM Trip, Uzbekistan was also visited by Indian travel blogger Vaibhav Kundra, whose Instagram audience exceeds 5 million followers.
During the trip, he is exploring the country’s tourism destinations and presenting them to his Indian online audience.
The B2B talks are intended to help establish new business contacts, develop joint tourism products and increase tourist flows between Uzbekistan and India.
