Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Citizens in Uzbekistan will be able to register in bank mobile applications and link bank cards using a phone number registered to a close relative, under new rules. The Ministry of Justice registered the corresponding amendments to information and cybersecurity requirements on 14 August 2026, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reported.

The amendments were introduced to the Regulation on minimum requirements for ensuring information and cybersecurity, as well as preventing fraud during the remote provision of financial services to individuals by credit and payment organizations and payment system operators. The document is registered under number 3759-1.

Under the new rules, users may register using a phone number registered to parents, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, or spouses. This provision also extends to the parents, brothers, sisters, and children of spouses. Information confirming close familial relationships will be automatically verified in the relevant system.

Banks will also establish a maximum money transfer amount via mobile applications that does not require confirmation with a code.

Additional measures are provided to protect users from malicious software and remote access to mobile devices. When such cases are detected, users will receive a PUSH notification in addition to an SMS message.

When logging into a mobile banking application from another device, linked bank cards will be temporarily blocked. Reactivating them will require confirming the operation with a code.

In addition, when transferring funds via a mobile application, the user will see the first and last name of the recipient alongside sender data. A portion of the recipient's personal data will remain hidden.
