Uzbek Natural Gas Production Falls 16.4% in H1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Natural gas production in Uzbekistan totaled 18.3 billion cubic meters in January–June 2026, down 16.4 percent from 21.9 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2025, according to the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

According to the agency, crude oil extraction during the reporting period stood at 313,800 tonnes compared with 323,900 tonnes in January–June 2025, a decline of 3.1 percent.

Gas condensate production also dropped by 19.7 percent to 462,100 tonnes, down from 575,200 tonnes a year earlier.

Coal mining in January–June 2026 totaled 2.5 million tonnes, falling 16.7 percent compared with 3.0 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.

In contrast to the decline in raw material extraction, output of petroleum products increased. Diesel fuel production rose 2.1 percent to 568,000 tonnes, compared with 556,400 tonnes in January–June 2025.

Motor gasoline production reached 614,200 tonnes, up 6.0 percent from 579,700 tonnes a year earlier.
