The Number of Enterprises with Foreign Capital in Uzbekistan Approaches 20,000

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The investment attractiveness of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to transform into steady growth in the number of active commercial organizations with the participation of foreign capital.

According to the latest report from the National Committee on Statistics, as of June 16, 2026, there are 19,921 officially functioning enterprises with foreign investments across the country. This indicator demonstrates a consistent expansion of the geographic footprint of international businesses within key sectors of the Uzbek economy.

In terms of the territorial distribution of foreign capital, a high concentration remains centered around the republic's primary industrial and financial hub.

The absolute leader in the number of registered foreign companies is the city of Tashkent, where 12,480 enterprises conduct their operations, accounting for more than half of the total national figure. Securing the second position by a noticeable margin is the Tashkent region, which has successfully attracted and launched ,2726 joint and fully foreign-owned production entities within its territory.

Among other regions of Uzbekistan, major tourist and industrial-agricultural hubs exhibit the highest investment activity. In the Samarkand region, the number of companies with foreign founders reached 728, while the Fergana region registered 647. Closing out the top five most sought-after territories is the Surkhandarya region with an indicator of 567 enterprises. Following next on the regional list are the Andijan (480 units) and Bukhara (425 units) regions.

In the central and western parts of the republic, the figures are distributed more evenly. In the Navoi region, there are 325 operational enterprises with foreign investments, while an almost identical result was recorded in the Syrdarya region with 324 companies.

The Namangan region hosts 313 joint structures, Jizzakh has 275, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan has 245. The smallest numbers of foreign companies as of the reporting date were registered in the Khorezm (208 units) and Kashkadarya (178 units) regions.
