Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Hokim of the Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev, held talks with Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and members of the state Senate, during which the parties discussed prospects for expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two regions.
During the meeting, the American side presented Missouri as one of the key industrial and agricultural centers of the United States with a developed industrial base, agriculture, and logistics infrastructure. In response, Adiz Boboev outlined the investment potential of the Samarkand region, where around 700 enterprises with foreign capital currently operate, including more than 20 companies with participation from American investors.
The parties noted that further cooperation should be based on the implementation of concrete joint projects focused on high technologies and industrial development.
Among the areas discussed were the creation of an agro-industrial cluster with the participation of Bunge, as well as food processing projects for export markets in cooperation with Post Holdings. Additional initiatives were considered in industrial automation, furniture production, construction materials manufacturing, digitalization of healthcare, and tourism infrastructure development.
Following the talks, both sides confirmed their intention to strengthen partnership ties and implement joint investment programs aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the Samarkand region and the state of Missouri.
