Russia's Il-114-300 Arrives in Uzbekistan for Hot-Weather Tests

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A prototype of Russia's Il-114-300 passenger aircraft has arrived in Uzbekistan to undergo testing in extremely high temperatures.

The aircraft completed a non-stop flight from the Moscow region to Bukhara, where specialists will conduct a series of tests in a dry climate and temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius. The program will assess the reliability of the aircraft's onboard systems and equipment during operations in hot weather.

The Il-114-300 is a regional turboprop passenger aircraft designed to carry more than 60 passengers. It is intended for use on regional routes, including operations at airports with unpaved runways.

The aircraft is expected to eventually replace the An-24, which continues to operate on a number of regional routes.

Earlier, a prototype Il-114-300 successfully completed testing in extremely low temperatures in Yakutia, where its performance was evaluated under severe winter conditions.

The testing program in Uzbekistan will assess the aircraft's operational performance under the opposite climatic conditions.
