Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The total number of registered electric vehicles in the Republic of Uzbekistan reached 109.2 thousand units as of 1 April 2026. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

The presented data demonstrates a significant interest among citizens in electric vehicles, though regional indicators are distributed highly unevenly.

The city of Tashkent remains the absolute leader in the introduction and operation of passenger electric transport. The overwhelming majority of all electric vehicles in the republic are registered in the capital, totaling 79,851 units.

The second spot in the popularity ranking is occupied by the adjacent Tashkent region, which accounted for 8,194 eco-friendly cars as of the reporting date. The top three is rounded out with a noticeable margin by the Samarkand region, whose vehicle fleet includes 4,525 electric vehicles.

The figures for the remaining regions of Uzbekistan, in descending order, are distributed as follows: 3,042 units are registered in the Khorezm region, 2,611 units in the Kashkadarya region, 2,231 units in the Ferghana region, 1,756 units in the Navoiy region, 1,685 units in the Bukhara region, and 1,477 electric vehicles in the Andijan region.

The threshold of one thousand cars was also crossed by the Namangan region (1,156 units) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1,010 units). The lowest level of adoption for this type of transport was recorded in the Syrdarya (799 units), Jizzakh (517 units), and Surkhandarya (315 units) regions.
