Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Russian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on 7 October. Manturov arrived in Tashkent to participate in meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Regions between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Denis Manturov conveyed greetings and best wishes to Shavkat Mirziyoyev from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The sides discussed the practical implementation of agreements reached at high-level meetings, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the results of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and the third Council of Regions meeting held the previous day.
The meeting highlighted sustained growth in mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia. The sides separately reviewed the advancement of joint projects in industry, energy, metallurgy, peaceful nuclear energy and other sectors.
The President of Uzbekistan stressed the importance of coordinated measures to further increase bilateral trade.
Other priorities included accelerating the implementation of joint projects within industrial zones and maintaining active contacts between the regions and business communities of the two countries.
