Mirziyoyev Honors Science, Culture and Health Figures
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree conferring state awards on a group of workers in science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, art, and the mass media on 22 August 2026. The decree was issued in connection with the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the presidential press service reported.
According to the decree, the awards were granted for contributions to strengthening national independence, advancing reforms to build a New Uzbekistan, developing intellectual and spiritual potential, and achievements in science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, art, and the mass media.
The honorary title of People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded to Ilyos Arabov, a teacher at the Yunus Rajabi Institute of National Musical Arts, and Yulduz Turdiyeva, a singer at the Uzbekconcert state institution. The title of People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Visual Arts) was awarded to Akmaljon Jamoldinov, chief artist of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan.
The title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded to Uzbekconcert spoken-word artist Shukurulla Israilov, Diydor Youth Experimental Theater-Studio artistic director Bobur Yuldashev, and Uzbekconcert singer Shokhrukh Yuldashev. The title of Honored Youth Trainer of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded to Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater honored actress Gulchekhra Jamilova, Gidjak Boburiy family enterprise head Abdumalik Madraimov from Andijan, and Uzbekistan State Academy of Choreography rector Shukhrat Tokhtasimov. The title of Honored Sports Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded to Samarkand Region Specialized Gymnastics Sports School senior coach Elena Aslanova and Chirchik Olympic and Paralympic Training Center senior Greco-Roman wrestling coach Vokhidjon Temirov.
The Order of Imam Bukhari was awarded to Mahmud Ibodullayev, honorary imam of the Imam al-Bukhari Friday Mosque in the Payaryk district of Samarkand region; Zakhid Islamov, professor of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Al-Azhar International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan; Hamid Ishmatbekov, first deputy chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan; Azizjon Mansurov, chairman of the Council of Elders of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan; and Gafur Razakov, imam-khatib of the Bakhawuddin Naqshband Mosque in the Kagan district of Bukhara region.
The Order "For Unselfish Service" was awarded to Ravshan Ashurov, laboratory head at the V. I. Romanovsky Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences; Tashkhan Gulyamova, laboratory head at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences; and Karimali Elmurodov, surgeon in the surgical department of the Kashkadarya branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care.
The Order of Mehnat Shukhrati was awarded to 11 individuals, including Ikram Abdullayev, chairman of the Khorezm Mamun Academy of the Academy of Sciences; Rustam Assakalov, head coach of the Uzbekistan national Greco-Roman wrestling team; Zhanat Ismailova, director of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan of the Academy of Sciences; Nizomiddin Mahmudov, director of the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences; and Jenisbek Piyazov, an opera singer from Karakalpakstan.
The Order of Dustlik was awarded to a group of 22 individuals, including Tatyana Abadiyeva, a phthisiologist at a Tashkent tuberculosis dispensary; Amangul Avezdurdiyeva, chairwoman of the Tashkent Turkmen Cultural Center; Lazizakhon Gafurova, professor at the National University of Uzbekistan; Israil Madrimov, a professional boxer; Askar Umbetayev, chairman of the Kazakh National Cultural Center of Karakalpakstan; and Rodion Soy, chairman of the Koreana Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.
The Order "For a Healthy Generation" I Class was awarded to Nodira Mustafayeva, head of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Academy of Sciences, and Zukhra Rahmankulova, professor of the Department of Neonatology at Tashkent State Medical University. The II Class of the order was awarded to Nazira Rakhmanova, director of the Khorezm Regional Children's Library, and Bakhtiyor Kholmatov, director of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences.
The Order of Salomatlik I Class was awarded to Turakul Arzikulov, head of the neurosurgery department of the Jizzakh branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, and Khudoyshukur Bobokulov, head of the resuscitation department of the inter-district perinatal center in the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region. The II Class was awarded to Ilkhom Mahmudov, department head at the 1st Central Clinical Hospital, and Yakhyo Saliyev, doctor at the Karakalpakstan regional branch of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Eye Microsurgery.
The Soglom Turmush Medal was awarded to seven healthcare, education, and television workers, including Shakhlo Aslonova, head of the neoresuscitation department at the inter-district perinatal center in the Romitan district of Bukhara region, and Komilakhon Tashmatova, editor-in-chief of the Bolajon television channel.
The Kelajak Bunyodkori Medal was awarded to seven young specialists, including Abdurashid Abdukarimov, a surgeon at the Academician V. Vakhidov Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Surgery, and Dilmurod Rustamov, a student at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.
The Shukhrat Medal was awarded to over 30 people, including Mirazam Abdullayev, founder of the "Teacher Azam" social media page; Shakhlokhon Abidova, commentator for the Namangan radio channel; Nuriddin Bakhritdinov, cardiac surgeon at the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology; and Saidaziz Ishankhodjayev, deputy chairman of the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Presidential Administration.
