Kiwi Imports to Uzbekistan Up 59% in Four Months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — During the first four months of 2026, Uzbekistan imported 7.3 thousand tons of kiwi. according to data from the National Statistics Committee, the total value of the imported produce amounted to 2.8 million US dollars.

An analysis of foreign trade operations shows a significant increase in domestic consumer demand for this fruit. Compared to the same period in 2025, the volume of imports grew by 2.7 thousand tons, which is equivalent to a 59% increase in supply.

Purchases of the fruit during the reporting period were made from eight foreign nations. Iran became the absolute leader in terms of kiwi supply volumes to the Uzbek market. A total of 6 thousand tons of the fruit was imported from this country, accounting for the lion's share of total imports.

China occupied the second spot on the list of key suppliers, sending 1.2 thousand tons. Noticeably smaller volumes came from other partner countries. For instance, 27.5 tons arrived from Kazakhstan, 13 tons from Thailand, and 3.6 tons of kiwi from Italy. The combined volume of supplies from all other remaining nations totaled 5.5 tons.
