Kicker: Urozov May Move to Borussia Monchengladbach

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan national team defender Jakhongir Urozov may continue his career at the German club Borussia Monchengladbach, according to the publication Kicker.

According to the source, the club is exploring the transfer market to strengthen its central defensive line and is considering young, promising football players. Following the performance of the 22-year-old defender at the World Cup, scouts of the German team included him among the candidates to reinforce the squad, and the head coach placed the player on the shortlist of potential newcomers.

As Kicker notes, a final decision on the possible transfer has not yet been made, but the probability of the move is assessed as high. The club's interest is linked to the physical attributes of the football player and his understanding of the game.

Jakhongir Urozov currently plays for Dinamo Samarkand. According to the source, the defender attracted the attention of the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Cannavaro, thanks to his performances in the Super League.

At the World Cup, he came on as a substitute in the first match, after which he established himself in the starting lineup. In the game against the DR Congo national team, the football player reportedly successfully intercepted dangerous opponent attacks seven times.

Urozov is a product of the youth academy of Bunyodkor Tashkent. In 2023, he moved to the Turkish club Eyupspor, and a year later played for Dinamo Samarkand on loan. At the beginning of 2025, the Uzbek club signed a permanent contract with the defender as a free agent.
