Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova won the WTA 125 Open Angers Arena Loire tournament, which concluded in Angers, France.

In the final, Rakhimova defeated Germany’s Tatjana Korpatsch with a score of 6:3, 7:6(4), the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan reported.

The Federation noted that Rakhimova displayed confident and aggressive play from the very start of the match. In the first set, she quickly took the lead and maintained her advantage, winning 6:3. The second set was closely contested, but the Uzbek player showed determination and clinched victory in the tiebreak — 7:6(4).

It is especially highlighted that on her path to the title, Rakhimova achieved a crucial comeback victory in the semifinals against the tournament’s second seed, Ana Ruzic of Croatia, with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 7:5.

The triumph in Angers marked Rakhimova’s first WTA 125 title of the season and a significant milestone following her switch to represent Uzbekistan.

The Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan congratulated the athlete on her victory and emphasized that this success is an important step in strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in world tennis.
