Uzbekistan population over 85 approaches 169,000
The number of Uzbekistan residents aged 85 and older has reached 168,973 people, according to preliminary results of the population and agricultural census.
The data shows the total population of Uzbekistan stands at 39,047,321 people.
The largest age group in the country is children aged 0 to 4 years, numbering 4,607,149 people. The group aged 5 to 9 years accounts for 3,859,606 people, while those aged 10 to 14 years number 3,406,515 people. Consequently, children under the age of 15 make up nearly 11.9 million people, representing approximately 30% of the country's population.
The population aged 15 to 59 years numbers around 23.2 million people. The largest segments within this range are residents aged 30 to 34 years (3,167,974 people) and those aged 35 to 39 years (3,090,226 people).
The number of residents aged 60 and older has approached 4 million people, accounting for about 10% of the population. This demographic includes 1,471,110 people aged 60 to 64 years, 1,174,839 people aged 65 to 69 years, 669,046 people aged 70 to 74 years, 342,554 people aged 75 to 79 years, and 130,375 people aged 80 to 84 years.
