Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Uzbekistan Football Association First Vice-President Ravshan Irmatov discussed preparations for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be hosted by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The discussions took place during a meeting with players from Uzbekistan's U-15 national team following their 4-1 victory over Guatemala at a FIFA World Cup tournament.
Infantino and Irmatov congratulated the young footballers on their victory and wished them success in their next match.
The officials also reviewed preparations for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, focusing on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan ahead of the tournament.
The championship is expected to provide opportunities to strengthen football cooperation between the two countries, exchange experience in organising major international competitions and coordinate preparations for the event.
