GameDev and animation industry development discussed in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A round table dedicated to the development of the GameDev and animation ecosystem in Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent. Participants discussed the industry's prospects, personnel training, investment attraction, and expanding the presence of domestic companies in international markets.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies in cooperation with the Uzbekistan Creative Association (UZCA), with the participation of IT Park Uzbekistan and the "Mirzo Ulugbek Vorislari" (Heirs of Mirzo Ulugbek) educational courses.
The discussion was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, alongside representatives from gaming and animation studios, IT enterprises, educational institutions, and creative industry professionals specializing in computer game development, animation, VFX, and design.
Participants reviewed the current state and future growth prospects of the GameDev and animation sectors in the country, paying special attention to training qualified specialists, supporting specialized companies, helping domestic developers enter foreign markets, attracting investments, and strengthening interaction between the public and private sectors.
Speaking at the event, Sherzod Shermatov emphasized the importance of supporting talented youth and developing the GameDev and animation industries as one of the highly promising sectors of the national economy. According to him, efforts to implement international experience, enhance export potential, and shape a modern industry ecosystem will be continued.
During the round table, industry representatives shared their practical experiences and presented recommendations for the further advancement of the sector.
Following the meeting, it was noted that the developed initiatives and recommendations will serve as the foundation for the systematic growth of GameDev, animation, VFX, and design in Uzbekistan, while also fostering broader international cooperation and the formulation of new strategic initiatives.
