Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — US President Donald Trump plans to visit Uzbekistan, according to Paolo Zampolli, the US president’s special representative for global partnerships, in an interview with the Tahlilnoma programme on Uzbekistan 24 television.
Zampolli said Trump had personally told him about his desire to visit Uzbekistan.
“I know that he wants to come to Uzbekistan. The president has an extremely busy schedule. But he told me about his intention to visit Uzbekistan,” the special representative said.
Zampolli said he was working to arrange a possible visit and expressed hope that it would take place in the near future. No specific dates have been announced yet.
Earlier, on 7 August, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Donald Trump. During the conversation, the Uzbek leader invited the US president to visit Uzbekistan.
