Chinese Investors to Expand Ceramic Tile Output in Kokand SEZ
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — As part of a comprehensive study of the socio-economic situation in the Uchkuprik district, the Governor of the Ferghana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, visited the major foreign enterprise Yong Xin Ceramics LLC, which operates within the Kokand Free Economic Zone (SEZ).
The regional head reviewed the current production processes, technological lines, and samples of new finished products manufactured by the plant for the domestic and foreign markets.
During the visit, an official working meeting was held between the regional governor and Wu Hong Chang, the founder of the Chinese company Jinghua Ceramics. During the talks, the sides discussed the progress of current investment projects, as well as practical issues regarding the expansion of operations at existing enterprises and the accelerated creation of new industrial capacities in the region.
Officials and investors held a detailed exchange of views on strategic issues regarding the development of the building materials industry in the Ferghana Valley. Special attention was paid to mechanisms for increasing the production volumes of high-quality, modern, and competitive products capable of replacing imported analogues and strengthening the export potential of Uzbekistan, as well as attracting additional foreign direct investment into the sector.
Following the meeting, a firm agreement was reached to continue systematic joint work aimed at further deepening mutually beneficial trade and industrial cooperation and launching a portfolio of new promising projects as soon as possible.
