Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Bog’don hotel has opened on the second floor of Samarkand railway station, the press service of Uztemiryulyulovchi said.
The hotel is intended for long-distance train passengers and travelers waiting for their departures. The facility also accommodates transit passengers and tourists visiting Samarkand.
The hotel has 36 rooms with a total capacity of 96 guests. Breakfast is provided in a buffet format.
The passenger services division of Uzbekistan Railways said the hotel is intended to provide arriving passengers and those waiting for trains with necessary services directly inside the railway station.
The development of railway stations is part of reforms in the sector. In October 2023, the President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution on further reforming the railway transport sector.
As part of the reform, Temir Yul Vokzallari was established within the structure of Uztemiryulyulovchi to manage railway stations. The new structure was established on the model of Uzbekistan Airports.
The document also provided for the development of railway stations in Tashkent, Samarkand and Kokand on the basis of public-private partnerships.
The Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, was instructed to draft a corresponding Cabinet of Ministers resolution.
