Andijan and Vitebsk to Implement US$141 Million Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Hokim of Andijan Region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee of Belarus Aleksandr Rogozhnik to discuss prospects for expanding interregional cooperation.

The talks focused on developing trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian ties, as well as implementing joint projects in industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and the woodworking industry.

The meeting participants also reviewed the implementation of nine livestock projects with a total capacity of 8,000 head of cattle and discussed cooperation between higher education institutions of the Andijan and Vitebsk regions.

Following the negotiations, the parties signed a road map providing for the implementation of 30 joint projects worth a total of US$141 million.

The implementation of these measures is expected to expand investment cooperation between the regions, create new joint ventures, and strengthen long-term trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
