Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Airline AirAsia X has announced the suspension of its flights on the Kuala Lumpur – Tashkent route. The final flight will take place on September 1, after which service on this direction will be discontinued starting September 2, 2026.

The route connecting the capitals of Malaysia and Uzbekistan was launched on October 15, 2025. As a result, the airline operated scheduled flights on this destination for less than a year.

The company stated that the decision was made as part of a route network optimization strategy designed to ensure long-term sustainability while minimizing inconvenience to passengers.

AirAsia X noted that it will continue to monitor market conditions and demand levels, without ruling out the possibility of resuming flights on this route in the future.

Passengers affected by the flight cancellations will receive notifications via the contact details provided during booking. For tickets purchased directly through the official AirAsia website or the AirAsia MOVE app, options include a full refund or a credit account deposit via AirAsia MOVE. The credit can be used for future travel within 730 days from the date of issuance.

For passengers who bought tickets through travel agencies or third-party booking services, the airline recommends contacting their ticketing agent directly.

AirAsia X clarified that it will not compensate for auxiliary costs associated with cancelled hotel bookings, connecting flights with other airlines, excursions, or other related expenses. For additional assistance, passengers are advised to use the official support service AirAsia AskBo.
