Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan won its first-ever Asian Games medal in esports, with Abubakr Iminjanov and Farrukh Mirkhamidov taking bronze in the football esports competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The Uzbek esports athletes successfully advanced through the preliminary stages of the tournament to reach the semifinals. They finished third overall to secure Uzbekistan’s first-ever Asian Games medal in esports.
The result also marks Uzbekistan’s first medal in the discipline at the Asian Games.
