Woman Gives Birth to Quintuplets in Andijan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A woman gave birth to quintuplets in Andijan. The birth took place on 6 July 2026 at City Maternity Complex No. 2, where the patient had been hospitalized with a diagnosis of multiple pregnancy.
Nargiza Bekjonova, a resident of the "Kayragochtosh" mahalla in the city of Andijan, underwent a cesarean section due to premature labor.
The operation was performed by a team of obstetrician-gynecologists, neonatologists, and resuscitators. Three girls and two boys were born. The weight of the first girl was 1,450 grams, the first boy was 1,605 grams, the second girl was 1,495 grams, the second boy was 1,585 grams, and the third girl was 1,205 grams.
Following the birth, the mother and the newborns were transferred to the Andijan regional branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health to receive specialized medical care.
According to medical workers, the condition of the woman and all five children is currently assessed as good, and they remain under the constant observation of specialists.
This marks the second case of a large number of multiples being born in the Andijan region recently. Last month, quadruplets were born at the same branch of the medical center.
