Uzbekistan's Green Energy Output Rises 23% in 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan generated 7 billion kWh of electricity from renewable energy sources in January-July 2026, up 23% from the same period last year.

According to official information, the country currently operates 21 renewable energy facilities with a combined installed capacity of 5,602 MW. These include 15 solar power plants with a total capacity of 3,930 MW and six wind power plants with a combined capacity of 1,672 MW.

Renewable electricity generation has increased steadily in recent years. Output totaled 434 million kWh in 2022, 576.9 million kWh in 2023, 4.9 billion kWh in 2024, and reached 10.5 billion kWh in 2025.

Overall, Uzbekistan has generated more than 23.4 billion kWh of electricity from renewable energy sources between 2022 and July 2026.

According to the official information, this has enabled the country to save about 6.24 billion cubic metres of natural gas and prevent the release of around 13.46 million tonnes of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The authorities attributed the results to the implementation of renewable energy projects, investment attraction and the introduction of modern technologies.
