Uzbekistan Women Win Asian U19 Boxing Team Standings

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan women's under-19 national team won first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Boxing U19 and U23 Championships, which are taking place in Jakarta.

Uzbek athletes competed in eight out of ten weight categories and won six medals, consisting of four gold and two silver. This result enabled the team to secure first place in the overall standings. The national team of Kazakhstan finished second, and India came in third.

Gold medals for Uzbekistan were won by Sabrina Chakomanova (under 54 kg), Sevara Mamatova (under 60 kg), Rushanabonu Isoeva (under 65 kg), and Samira Turgunova (under 75 kg). All four athletes won their final bouts with a score of 5:0. Chakomanova defeated Joyshree Devi of India, Mamatova beat Chahat of India, Isoeva defeated Tong Wong of Chinese Taipei, and Turgunova defeated Anshika of India.

The silver medalists of the championship were Nazokat Mardonova (under 51 kg), who lost in the final to Indian athlete Chandrika Pujari with a score of 0:5, and Maftuna Yangieva (under 70 kg), who was defeated in the decisive match by Kamila Ospanova of Kazakhstan with a score of 2:3.

The Asian Championships in Jakarta continue. Representatives of the Uzbekistan national team in the U23 age category will be the next to enter the competition for medals.
