Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s kurash team won two gold and one bronze medal at the Asian Games. Ibadatkhon Agojonova and Shokhrukhkhon Bakhtiyorov became champions, while Bekmurod Oltiboev claimed a bronze medal.
In the up to 57kg weight category, Ibadatkhon Agojonova defeated a representative of Chinese Taipei in the final to win the gold medal.
In the over 90kg category, Shokhrukhkhon Bakhtiyorov defeated Tajikistan’s Shakarmamad Mirmamadov in the decisive bout to become an Asian Games champion.
In the semifinal of the same weight category, Bekmurod Oltiboev lost to Shokhrukhkhon Bakhtiyorov. Oltiboev subsequently won the bronze medal.
Bakhtiyorov’s gold medal was the 10th for the Uzbekistan delegation at the Asian Games.
