Uzbekistan Warns of Bus Ticket Scams on Moscow–Tashkent Route

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency has warned citizens about fraudulent schemes involving bus tickets for services from Moscow to Tashkent. Scammers use photographs and videos of buses operated by Uzautotrans Service to pass off illegal transport services as official routes.

According to the agency, advertisements for trips are posted on social media and YouTube channels. When passengers make enquiries, the scammers claim that tickets for official services are already sold out at ticket offices and offer to sell them directly at inflated prices. However, instead of travelling on the advertised service, passengers are put on illegal buses.

The agency reminded passengers that Uzautotrans Service operates regular services from Moscow to Tashkent on Mondays and Thursdays. Buses depart from the Novoyasenevskaya and Kotelniki bus stations and arrive at the Tashkent bus terminal.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices of the designated bus stations, as well as online through the relevant mobile applications and websites.

The fare for regular services is 8,500 roubles. Tickets for additional services organised on the same days cost 7,000 roubles.

The agency urged citizens to buy tickets through official channels and verify information about the transport operator to avoid falling victim to fraud.
