Uzbekistan Tops Asian Junior Judo Championships
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's youth judo team made a strong start at the Asian Judo Championships in Jordan, finishing the opening day at the top of the medal standings.
Uzbek athletes won three gold, one silver and four bronze medals on the first day of competition.
Muhammadjon Masharipov won the Asian title in the under-60 kg category, Inoyat Telmanov claimed gold in the under-73 kg division, and Rayhona Mamatova secured the title in the under-57 kg category.
Zarina Jamalova took the silver medal in the under-48 kg category.
Bronze medals went to Dilshod Karimov (under 60 kg), Mukhriddin Marufov (under 73 kg), Sabina Azamatova (under 52 kg) and Mokhinur Allaberganova (under 57 kg).
Following the opening day of competition, Uzbekistan leads the medal standings at the Asian Youth Judo Championships.
