Uzbekistan to face Argentina in September friendly

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan national football team will play a friendly match against Argentina in China on 30 September, according to the Uzbekistan Football Association.

The fixture will serve as part of the team's preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup. Head coach Fabio Cannavaro will lead the Uzbek side in the match against the Argentines.

Prior to that game, Uzbekistan will face Iran in a friendly in Tashkent on 24 September. The two matches will form part of the upcoming international break.

Both fixtures are being treated as preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup, where Uzbekistan has been drawn into Group B alongside Bahrain, North Korea, and Jordan.
