Uzbekistan Studies California Viticulture for Seedless Grape Trial

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan visited the U.S. state of California to study modern viticulture technologies and the experience of Grapa Global, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan reported.

During the visit, Uzbek representatives examined modern breeding methods, grape cultivation technologies, and promising seedless grape varieties. The parties discussed testing these varieties under Uzbekistan's local conditions, evaluating their yields, climate adaptation, and export potential.

The delegation visited a plant nursery where rootstock material is grown, as well as a facility equipped for sorting, packaging, cooling, and storing harvested grapes. Discussions focused on developing viticulture through a full supply-chain approach, covering every stage from nursery production and farming to final market delivery.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to conduct field trials of promising seedless grape varieties in Uzbekistan, establish new vineyards, and organize knowledge-exchange programs for specialists.

The Uzbek delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Agrostar Holding, as well as local farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs.
