Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Startup Genome discussed the development of the country’s startup ecosystem and its promotion internationally during ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026.
First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Ayubkhon Sultanov met with Startup Genome founder Jean-François Gauthier. The sides discussed opportunities to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) and other international startup ecosystem rankings.
Particular attention was given to improving the accessibility of information about Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem for foreign investors and increasing the country’s international recognition on the global startup scene.
Startup Genome is an international organization based in San Francisco that specializes in researching and developing startup ecosystems. The organization analyzes data from more than 350 ecosystems and over 5.5 million startups.
Startup Genome also provides strategic consulting services to government bodies and innovation institutions in more than 65 countries. One of the organization’s key research products is the annual Global Startup Ecosystem Report.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue a comprehensive analysis of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem and improve its development indicators based on international benchmarking.
The sides also intend to continue joint efforts to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position on Startup Genome’s global research and ranking platforms.
