Uzbekistan, South Korea Partner on Agricultural Education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and South Korea agreed to expand cooperation in agriculture, agricultural education, and specialist training following a meeting between representatives of relevant organizations from both countries, which concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

The document was signed by Rustam Nizomov, Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Agricultural Personnel, and Lee Yong-bom, Managing Director of the Korea International Horticulture Research Institute.

During the negotiations in Tashkent, both sides discussed developing bilateral cooperation in the agrarian sector while improving systems for training and upgrading the skills of agricultural professionals.

A key area of collaboration involves the continuous professional development and skill enhancement of agricultural specialists. The institutions explored updating retraining and advanced training programs by incorporating international best practices.

Special focus was placed on integrating scientific and practical developments into the educational process. Meeting participants noted that joint efforts in this area will enhance specialist training curricula while strengthening connections between vocational education, scientific research, and practical application.

The delegations also discussed arranging exchange visits for experts and specialists. Future cooperation plans include organizing joint seminars, training workshops, and professional development courses.

The signed memorandum establishes the legal and organizational framework for partnership while paving the way for mutually beneficial projects in agriculture and human resource development.
