Uzbekistan, South Korea Discuss Smart Bio Cluster Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting was held at the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry between the director of the agency, Abdulla Azizov, and representatives of a South Korean consortium led by the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND). The parties discussed organizational issues regarding the implementation of the Smart Bio Cluster project.
The talks focused on creating a modern industrial ecosystem in the fields of biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals, the step-by-step implementation of the project, as well as ensuring its investment attractiveness and economic efficiency.
Representatives of the South Korean side reported that, as part of the preparation of the project's feasibility study, they plan to conduct a comprehensive market analysis, assess the interest of potential investors, study demand, and determine the investment potential of the future bio-cluster.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the development of engineering and communication infrastructure, the creation of an effective project management model, and mechanisms for attracting international investment.
The leadership of the Agency emphasized that creating favorable conditions for investors and providing the necessary organizational support remain among the key factors for the successful implementation of the project.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and coordinate subsequent practical stages
