Uzbekistan, Singapore Expand Investment Partnership Following Visit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — During a working visit to Singapore on 21–22 June 2026, the Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ilzat Kasimov, held a series of substantive bilateral meetings with the top management of leading Singaporean corporations.

Discussions focused on major entities, including Meinhardt, Wilmar International, and the sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings. The parties discussed the expansion of investment cooperation and the parameters for launching joint high-tech projects in key sectors: industrial manufacturing, infrastructure modernization, agriculture, logistics, and sustainable development initiatives.

During negotiations with the leadership of the Wilmar International holding, special emphasis was placed on the practical aspects of establishing a joint production facility for flour and compound feed directly within Uzbekistan. The participants coordinated their positions and outlined a specific roadmap for the promotion and operational launch of the agro-industrial project.

The central event of the business program was a large-scale roundtable organized with the personal participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The discussion included executives from more than 30 major international and Singaporean companies, including industry leaders such as Singapore Technologies Engineering, Meta, Franklin Templeton, StoneX, Tasca, and Quest Ventures.

Following the meetings and multilateral sessions, the Singaporean business representatives and the Uzbek delegation confirmed their mutual strategic interest in systematically strengthening trade and economic ties and increasing the volume of mutual investments.
