Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan resumed gold exports in July 2026, shipping US$1.3 billion worth of the precious metal abroad. Gold exports have exceeded US$2.8 billion since the beginning of the year, with shipments recorded only in April and July, according to preliminary data from Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee.

Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover reached US$49.5 billion in January-July 2026, up 8.1% from the same period in 2025. Exports fell 3.6% to US$19.9 billion, while imports rose 17.8% to US$29.6 billion.

Excluding gold, goods exports amounted to US$9.8 billion during the first seven months of the year, an increase of 27.7% compared with January-July 2025.

Textile products remained one of Uzbekistan’s largest export categories. The country exported US$1.9 billion worth of textile goods in January-July, accounting for 9.5% of total exports. Textile exports increased by 26.6% year on year.

The July shipment was the second major gold consignment exported by Uzbekistan in 2026. The previous shipment was recorded in April. Before that, Uzbekistan last exported gold in September 2025, when shipments were worth about US$1.5 billion.
