Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) held a press conference on the results of its work in the first nine months of 2026, the next stage of privatization and changes to the regulation of realtor activities.

SAMA Director Sohibjon Murodov delivered the main report. He said measures are being consistently implemented in the country to reduce the state’s participation in the economy, expand opportunities for the private sector and attract investment.

Among the privatization results, the agency highlighted deals involving major state assets.

The state stake in Coca-Cola Uzbekistan was sold for US$252 million, while the stake in Ferganaazot was sold for US$140 million. A 75.2% state stake in the Samarkand Automobile Plant was sold for US$80 million.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of Presidential Decree No. PF-177, aimed at further reducing state participation in the economy and accelerating privatization.

Under the decree, state stakes in the charter capital of 84 companies, 1,242 real estate properties and 8,000 hectares of land are scheduled to be put up for auction in 2026.

The decree also provides for the termination or reorganization of 85 state-owned enterprises, as well as the sale of state assets, assets of such enterprises and land plots with a combined value of about 100 trillion soums. Privatization is expected to generate at least 14 trillion soums in revenue.

As part of the new stage, additional mechanisms are being introduced to accelerate the placement of state assets on the market, expand opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs, and improve the efficiency of state property use.

Since the beginning of 2026, 2,800 hectares of land have been sold to entrepreneurs through 11,796 lots for a total of 4.7 trillion soums. In addition, more than 36,500 land plots used by individuals and legal entities have been privatized, covering a total area of 3,509 hectares.

The director also presented information on the electronic trading platform and new opportunities it provides to entrepreneurs and individuals when acquiring state assets and land plots.

Another key topic of the press conference was the Law on Realtor Activities, adopted on 7 August 2026. The law is aimed at developing the realtor services market and improving its transparency and professionalism. SAMA has been designated as the authorized state body in this area.

The law provides for the creation of a unified open register of realtors and realtor organizations, requirements for professional training and qualification certification of specialists, and the introduction of national standards for realtor services.

One of the key innovations will be a multiple listing system, which will consolidate information on real estate properties in a single electronic system and facilitate data exchange between realtors. The system is expected to increase transparency and competition and improve access to information in the real estate market.

At the end of the press conference, agency representatives answered questions from journalists and bloggers about privatization, land sales, electronic trading and the new regulation of the real estate market.
