Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s U23 football team reached the semifinals of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after defeating Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
Uzbekistan opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Dilshod Murtozoyev found the net following a free-kick routine.
Azizbek Tulkinboyev doubled Uzbekistan’s lead in the 77th minute with the team’s second goal against Saudi Arabia.
Ten minutes later, Uzbekistan scored again. Firdavs Abdurahmanov headed home a cross from the right flank to make the final score 3-0.
In the semifinals, Uzbekistan will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Japan and North Korea. The semifinal is scheduled for 30 September.
