Uzbekistan Railways refutes rumors about Afrosiyob train launch to Khiva

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan Railways JSC has denied rumors circulating on social media regarding the launch of Afrosiyob high-speed trains to Khiva starting from 7 December.

In an official statement, the company clarified that this information is not accurate.

It explained that a test run of an Afrosiyob train had indeed been conducted as part of the ongoing electrification of the Bukhara–Urgench–Khiva railway section.

This trial is part of a broader program to test the new route and assess the infrastructure’s readiness for full-scale operation, the company emphasized.
