Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Certain categories of laid-off workers in Uzbekistan may be granted early old-age pensions if they fail to find suitable employment within three months.
The relevant procedure was approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution dated 28 September 2026.
The right to an early pension applies to men aged 58 to 60 who have at least 25 years of employment history. For women, the age threshold is 53 to 55, with at least 20 years of employment history required.
To apply for an early pension, citizens must submit an application through the Unified Interactive Public Services Portal. A copy of the order terminating the employment contract must be attached to the application. If employment history records have not yet been fully transferred to electronic format, a copy of the employment record book will also be required.
After the documents are submitted, the local employment authority has two working days to verify the information provided and register the citizen as a job seeker.
Over the following three months, employment service specialists will seek suitable employment for the applicant. If the person cannot be employed during this period, they will be recognized as unemployed, after which the documents required to grant the early pension will be sent to the Pension Fund.
The government service for processing an early pension is provided free of charge.
Once the pension is granted, unemployment benefits will cease starting from the following month.
