Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan Discuss New Joint Projects in Bishkek

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabaev conducted a working visit to Bishkek for talks with representatives of the Kyrgyz government and business community.

During the meetings, the parties discussed expanding bilateral trade, advancing joint investment projects, and preparing for upcoming bilateral events. Special attention was paid to stepped-up activities by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, expanding its investment portfolio, and accelerating the financing of new manufacturing projects.

The sides also agreed to hold an Uzbek-Kyrgyz business forum in Bishkek in the near future involving approximately 300 entrepreneurs.

The negotiations covered prospects for cooperation in industrial construction, building materials production, mining, the textile industry, logistics, and healthcare.

Participants gave separate attention to establishing a textile and garment cluster and an industrial and logistics center in the Osh region, as well as developing cross-border trade and increasing food exports.

Following the visit, the parties designated responsible executives and agreed on further steps to implement the agreements reached.
