Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining and Geology Bobir Islamov met with a delegation from Japan’s Itochu Corporation led by the company’s Executive and Chief Operating Officer Yamaguchi Hisakazu.

Ministry officials and representatives of the management of the state enterprise Navoiuran also took part in the talks.

The sides focused on prospects for expanding cooperation in geological exploration. In particular, they discussed conducting studies in prospective areas and the further development of deposits.

Another topic was bringing geological data in line with international standards. The participants also considered opportunities for cooperation in other areas.

Following the meeting, the sides discussed further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Itochu Corporation in the mining and geological sectors.
