Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan comprising local producers and exporters held talks in Kuwait with representatives of 15 local food importers and major trading companies. Dunyo news agency reported this.

The business meetings focused on increasing export volumes, arranging supplies and logistics. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for Uzbek meat and frozen products, confectionery, dried fruit and pulses to enter the Kuwaiti market.

With representatives of Abrar Universal Group and Alyasra Foods, the parties discussed terms for supplying meat and frozen products, including quality, volume, packaging and logistics requirements.

Separate talks were held between World Sweets and Zarqand and Krember on confectionery exports. Opportunities to promote Uzbek goods in the Kuwaiti market were also discussed with Souq Adan, Go Fresh, Cozmo Central Food and SAF Kuwait.

Following talks with Ariana Advanced General Trading, which specializes in wholesale food trading, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Amax Exim LLC. The document provides for cooperation on exports of dried fruit, pulses and meat products.

The development of e-commerce was another area of the visit. At a meeting with representatives of Alhafed National, the parties discussed promoting and selling Uzbek products to Kuwaiti consumers through e-commerce channels.

The Yeeb e-commerce platform is scheduled to launch in October. A dedicated section for products from Uzbekistan has already been created on the platform.

Uzbek exporters are expected to be integrated into the platform in stages, with product catalogs to be developed.

During the visit, memorandums of understanding were also signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Alhafed National, as well as on export cooperation with Amax Exim and Chortoq Mineral Water.

The sides also explored the possibility of establishing a trading house for Uzbek products in Kuwait.

A separate part of the talks focused on transport and logistics cooperation. Representatives of Navoi International Airport discussed prospects for organizing air cargo transportation with Beyout Holding, KRH and Sky Aviation Service Group.

The sides considered options for the rapid delivery of perishable food and agricultural products, meat and frozen goods, as well as transit arrangements and further distribution of cargo.

Following the visit, new mechanisms were developed to promote Uzbek food products in the Kuwaiti market, including direct business contacts, e-commerce and the development of air cargo logistics.
