Uzbekistan Discusses Tax Reforms With Turkic Fund

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan between Deputy Chairman Jahongir Abdiev and a delegation of the Turkic Investment Fund led by Fund President Bagdad Amreyev.

The talks focused on tax administration and the expansion of economic cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented information on ongoing reforms in tax administration aimed at improving transparency and the efficiency of the fiscal system.

Bagdad Amreyev, in turn, briefed participants on the objectives and tasks of the Fund, as well as its priorities in developing economic cooperation among participating countries.

Special attention was given to the practical aspects of implementing the Fund’s foundational documents. Experts from both sides discussed the application of tax incentives, as well as procedures for exemption from value-added tax, excise duties, and other mandatory payments in procurement under joint projects.

Following the talks, the parties identified focal points for operational cooperation in agreed areas. They confirmed their intention to maintain regular working dialogue and develop cooperation in tax policy and investment relations.

The Turkic Investment Fund, established to deepen economic integration among countries of the Organization of Turkic States, began operations in 2024. Its members are Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
